Hello Konnichiwa Bonjour !
Growing up in the megapolis of Tokyo, Japan, I have always loved performing – as the oldest of three sisters, little Natsumi led the sibling’s weekly living room performances, singing into a big spoon on the kitchen table! My “official” training started at the age of 7 when I attended my first class at a local dance studio. With the amazing support system, my passion for performance only grew since then. Over time, I was introduced to multiple styles – Ballroom, Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Commerical Hiphop to name a few – and I was happy to explore the nuances and specific of any forms I could tap into.
After graduating from high school in 2017, teenage Natsumi (in her reckless but earnest spirit!) decided to move abroad with practically no English-speaking experience and no relatives in the US to continue her study in performing Arts. Though my journey in the US was briefly paused in 2020 due to the pandemic, I kept my flame of curiosity and ambition very close to my heart. In 2021, I chose NYC, the city I had dreamed of since age 14, as the place for my next chapter. I have since then earned B.A. in Drama and Theater Arts from Columbia University, cum laude with GPA of 3.91.
Now I live with two beautiful black cats, Jiji and Koko(They are siblings, and yes, I am a huge Studio Ghibli fan) in a cozy studio apartment in Hamilton Heights.
